Born near Porto, Aldo Soares l ives and works in Paris. His family left the heat of Portugal in 1965 to settle in northern France. After mathematic studies, he joined the capital in 1981 for a job in the public service. In 1987, after 6 years of boredom, he quit his job, and the following year, Zoom magazine published a portfolio of his portraits which put him on the rails of professional photography. His early portraits are published in Globe and Liberation in 1988, followed by his first contract in advertising in 1989.
